Marie Curie Action
Named after the well-known scientist Marie-Curie, the Marie Curie Global Fellowship is a fellowship offered by European Union to prepare fellows for leading positions in Science and Industry. It is under the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation program ever with nearly €80 billion funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020).
Horizon 2020 is composed of different sections: Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership, Societal Challenges and many other sections. For more details see:

Marie Skłodowska‐Curie Actions belong to Excellent Science section.
Under Marie Skłodowska‐Curie Actions are Individual Fellowship (IF), Innovative Training Networks (ITN), Research and Innovative Staff Exchange (RISE), COFUND and NIGHT.
Individual Fellowship (IF) has two categories. European Fellowship, this means the fellow should spend the two year fellowship in European country; in the Global Fellowship the fellow has to spend 12-24 month in a country outside Europe and a 12 month in European country.
